Varun Kapoor

Varun Kapoor maintains a broad corporate commercial practice with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and commercial real estate matters. He advises clients across a range of industries on complex business transactions, including reorganizations and restructurings, as well as financing and banking matters. Varun also supports clients operating in the health and dental regulatory space.

His experience spans the full lifecycle of corporate matters, including capital markets, securities issues and compliance matters involving private corporations and investment funds. Varun regularly assists with the negotiation and drafting of commercial agreements, with experience spanning the oil and gas, aviation, aerospace and defence sectors. He also advises on corporate governance and shareholder matters, helping clients navigate complex and often sensitive situations.

Varun summered and articled with Bennett Jones before joining the firm as an associate. During law school, he interned with justices of the Alberta Court of Justice, worked as a corporate governance research assistant at the University of Alberta Faculty of Law and volunteered as a case worker with Student Legal Assistance.
